VON HAGEN DESIGN

The Story Of Three Men – von Hagen at EuroShop Düsseldorf, Germany 2023

von Hagen DESIGN will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2023 and has been a reliable partner for international projects in trade fair and shopfitting construction since the beginning. We have an innovative team of architects and interior designers that carries out projects from the initial idea to production and implementation. With our modern production facilities and graphic works, an extensive selection of furniture and fittings, and a dedicated installation team, we provide our customers with high-quality support for their projects.

Amazed, admiring looks at an artistic overall installation, the haptic grasp of individual components of this provided a pleasant start to valuable conversations with visitors.

How do you direct people's attention at a high-profile trade fair characterized by innovations from the entire industry? How can we present ourselves as exhibition stand builders as innovatively? We meet these challenges and ask ourselves these questions for every EuroShop in Düsseldorf anew.

In its anniversary year, von Hagen DESIGN tells the story of three friends united to create an exhibition experience on nearly 70sqm (=800sqf). It underlines the continuity of the company in a very personal way. Ernst F. Drewes is a German artist who, due to a disability, adapted his three-dimensional art into a two-dimensional plane so that he could continue to execute it. Axel von Hagen, CEO of von Hagen GmbH and childhood friend of Drewes, wants to inspire him to find his way back to three-dimensionality and is designing the anniversary booth together with Chris Wendel, another long-time friend and respected designer. For this purpose, various works of art by Drewes from different eras are taken up and staged in a new way.

Drewes’ two-dimensional series of paintings "NUDEL" made of acrylic paint is adapted and integrated into a walk-in space where visitors experience the art for themselves in a new way. A mirrored wall creates new inspiring dimensions. Drewes’ acrylic painting titled "OVAL" is integrated into it and transformed from a two-dimensional painting into an animated LED projection that is represented in the mirror through the back wall. The colors of both installations pick up the atmospheric corporate colors of von Hagen DESIGN.

Drewes' three-dimensional wall sculptures were inspired by the movement and flowing brushstrokes of an artist. Since Drewes can't remember the processes he used to create them, von Hagen DESIGN has printed a 3D model in a similar style, creating an impressive reception desk that piques visitors' curiosity and reminds Drewes of his skills.

For von Hagen DESIGN, the trade show appearance was thoroughly successful. Feedback regarding the stand design and the conversations was exceptionally positive. Numerous existing business relationships were consolidated and new partners and customers found, and the own employees were inspired and enriched with valuable impressions. The holistic concept underlines the importance of storytelling in live communication.
